You are looking at a necklace made of stunning AAA quality faceted Lapis Lazuli rondells and onion shaped briolettes.
I have accentuated it by using uniquely shaped rings made of Sterling Silver that has been Gold plated (24ct Gold vermeil).
This necklace has a length of 41cm, and it is supposed to be worn high on your neck like a choker or a collier.
The rondells have a diameter of 5.5mm - 6mm and the onion shaped briolettes are 7mm.
In ancient times Lapis Lazuli was most highly regarded, because of its beautiful colour and the valuable ultramarine blue dye derived from it.
Its name comes from the Latin word 'lapis', meaning "stone," and the Persian word 'lazhuward', meaning "blue."
Lapis Lazuli deposits are formed by multiple minerals, mostly Lazurite, Sodalite, Calcite and Pyrite, and it is a rich medium to royal blue with gold flecks (pyrites).
