This elegant necklace is entirely made out of pure Sterling Silver
and features both a carefully hand carved Orchid flower
and a large faceted ravishing Ruby as pendant.
The flower was handcarved from a piece of wax
with the original as the model.
The wax was then covered with gypsum into an
investment, out of which the wax was molten out-
only to leave the cavity into which I poured pure Silver.
After a few more steps of filing and polishing
you can see here the finished piece.
Ruby is one of the most valuable precious stones
there is. The red colour is just second to none.
Ruby is the birthstone of the ones born in July.
